Big Shoes to Fill

Contains: long-term and accelerated weight gain, behind-the-scenes encouraging.

For the fourth anniversary of when I started writing gaining stories, I let my readers collectively plot my next story, with a poll to determine the parameters of that story’s plot. The results are on my writing Tumblr, and I combined those with one of the wildcard suggestions: that the protagonist should work with animals, e.g. in a zoo or aquarium. And now, it’s finally done. I hope it was worth the wait!

Synopsis: Ricardo is just starting his job at Central Zoo. His mentor is the heavyset Dustin, whom their boss, Vance, is sad to see go. Things are going well, until Vance drops a tidbit about the treats they give their wolves being addictive for humans. After trying one, Ricardo can’t help but eat more, and it starts to show…

Office Treats

Contains: long-term weight gain, behind-the-scenes encouraging

A quick little story that atamekia helped me develop. I was joking that I’d love to work in a computing or software company with a ton of chubby guys and become the office slut. Then he suggested I apply that concept to gaining. The original idea involved our protagonist feeding several guys, but I ended up wanting to take the story in a different direction.

Synopsis: Marcus is a stress baker without much of a sweet tooth, so he takes his baked goods into the office to share with his coworkers. Most of them complain about his treats ruining their diets, while still taking one or more. But one new face in the office catches his eye, not just because he’s a cute chubby guy, but also because he takes several treats at a time, several times a day.

The Perfect Toy

Contains: instant weight gain. This story also contains egregious misrepresentations of quantum physics, so if you know anything about that topic, I’m sorry.

The origins of this one are simple enough: someone on Grommr posted a post to the effect of, “A beer belly is just a warm pillow.” And I replied, “False: a beer belly is a warm pillow AND a great sex toy!” And then I got this idea:

Synopsis: For their fifth anniversary, Juan bought Andy a couple’s visit to a local university, where they’re researching a toy that can read both of their minds and make the perfect sex toy for them. Using quantum physics, it can manifest the toy out of thin air. What they don’t expect is for the machine to make the two a rather unconventional toy…

It Fattens

As you can probably guess from the title, this story is inspired by the 2014 horror movie, It Follows.

I have a complicated relationship with horror. I find it fascinating as a genre, particularly the ones with really clever premises, like It Follows, and Don’t Breath, and Jordan Peele’s work in the genre. But I don’t have the constitution to actually go watch them and willingly scare myself. So I’ve never actually seen any of the above-mentioned movies. The only horror movies I’ve seen are the Saw series, which I keep up with diligently. Yes, I’m just as confused by that fact as most people are when I tell them.

So I’m very thankful for the YouTube channel Dead Meat, and their Kill Count series. Every Friday, James takes a horror movie and does an overview of the whole thing, commenting on it along the way, and highlighting all the kills and deaths. He then tallies up all the kills at the end, and picks the best and worst. For me, it’s a way to experience these horror movies with a layer of detachment, an emotional and psychological safety net, if you will. In other words, it’s perfect for me. And his video on It Follows was the impetus for me to come up with this idea.

Originally, this started out as an idea that I jokingly posted on Grommr: “A gainer-themed pastiche of It Follows called It Fattens. The monster doesn’t kill you, it just makes you really fat. You pass it on by feeding someone, whether it’s an erotic feeding or just something innocent like passing someone a snack.” It was a joke at first, but over the next few days, I found myself more and more intrigued by the possibilities of the idea. And I was struggling to find something I wanted to write after working so hard on my 10-year anniversary stories, The Reunion and The Support Group. This ended up being that story.

A bit of trivia: the character Rain is named after my favorite guesser on the Lineup series by Cut, who also inspired her personality. You can see her in their Guess My Disability video, which is also a pretty good introduction to the series. I also recommend Guess My Kink and Teachers Guess Who’s High.

Synopsis: After a date with a feeder, Jaden finds himself haunted by a monster that can take the appearance of any person, and will slowly follow him, no matter where he goes. If the monster catches up with him, it’ll make him really, really fat. He can delay his fate by feeding someone else, but once the monster fattens them, it’s back on his trail. With the help of some of his friends, he tries everything he can to deter or escape the monster, but nothing gets it off his tail for good. Will he manage to escape it?

Not Quite Professional

The idea for this story came from digiheo. While writing it, I drew on my own experiences with job interviews and the people I’ve worked with. A lot of the little details in here are inspired by actual events.

I have another story I’m working on that I’m expecting to get up by Saturday. It’s a lengthy one, and one of the more story-driven stories of mine, so I’m glad I could give you folks this short and sweet one in the meantime.

Synopsis: Ali is nervous but confident about his prospects as he arrives at Aerial Systems for a job interview. Things start out smoothly, as he interviews with his portly prospective manager. But with each person who interviews him being progressively fatter, he has a hard time maintaining his composure.

The Reunion (10 Year Anniversary Special)

Originally posted July 13, 2019.

To be clear, today is not the 10-year anniversary of when I started writing gaining stories. We’re about six years away from that.

I used to play World of Warcraft. In fact, I played the game for about five-and-a-half years, from 2005 to 2011. I loved the game, but I might have loved the WoW blogosphere even more. I wanted to partake in that scene, so ten years ago today, in 2009, I started my own World of Warcraft blog.

Now, as I’ve mentioned in this journal entry, for most of my life, writing was decidedly not my strong suit. But because I was writing essay-length and essay-quality posts for my blog three times a week, I was unwittingly practicing writing. And through that, I went from struggling with writing, to my College Writing II instructor asking me to email her my last essay for the class, so she could show it to other students as an example of how to write a good essay. Without that blog, writing very well might have never become a hobby of mine.

After that, I spent about four years writing spoken-word poetry, then I dabbled in fanfic and original fiction for a while, before I eventually settled on writing gaining fiction. And that brings us to where we are today.

Naturally, I think the 10th anniversary of when I started writing for fun deserves something to mark the occasion. But I couldn’t come up with any ideas of my own that I felt were really appropriate for that significant of an anniversary. So I put out a question to you folks asking for suggestions. justgiveme1username suggested this one, while spirasider suggested the other one I’ll be posting today. ZBot316 suggested the idea of a retrospective on what happened to my characters after their stories, which I used in both stories.

I liked both ideas, but I couldn’t figure out a satisfying way to fit all my characters into one of them. So I decided to write both: the characters who got happy endings would appear in the reunion story, and the characters who got not-so-happy endings would appear in the support-group story. And thanks to a lot of time spent on my laptop in a coffeeshop and a lot of iced tea, I managed to finish both of them in time to post today, on the 10th anniversary itself.

It’s been a wild ride to get here. I wish I could thank everyone who supported me along the way, including the subscribers and readers of my WoW blog, and the people who supported me and cheered me on when I did spoken-word poetry. But what I can do is thank you folks. So thank you. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or since today, thank you.

Synopsis: Many characters from my previous stories, specifically the ones who were happy with the endings they got, are invited to a party under mysterious circumstances. There they recount what happened to them that made them so fat, reunite with people they haven’t seen in a while, and make connections with people who had similar circumstances. Eventually, the all-you-can-eat-style food is brought out, and a few characters even get a bit competitive…

Synopsis: At a support group for victims of “unexpected weight gain”, characters from my previous stories who weren’t so happy with their endings come together to share their stories and find camaraderie. After they talk about their experiences that bring them to the group, things seem to be going well. But some of them can’t shake the feeling that there’s some higher power controlling their weight gain. And that feeling introduces more strife than the meetings organizer was probably expecting.

Employee Retention

Originally published Jun 29, 2019.

I would like to start by saying that I am fully aware that compared to the rest of my stories, this one runs more on “porn logic” than most. In other words, when faced with a problem, the character resorts to the sexiest solution possible first rather than the most sensible one. To which I say, if straight men who are into vanilla sex can get that kind of media, us gainers should too!

It’s a common trope in weight gain fiction to have a boss influence, coerce, or outright force an employee to gain weight, whether it’s for personal enjoyment, an ulterior motive, or both. But I haven’t seen a lot of weight gain stories where the boss is the one who gains weight. I had this idea for a story where a boss gains weight, knowing that one of his employees is into it. Meanwhile, the employee doesn’t know that the boss knows, and thinks he has to keep his cool or he’ll get a call from HR. Wanting to write that kind of tension is what brought us this story.

Synopsis: Dave and Bill are CEOs of competing tech companies, with Bill’s being more financially successful, while Dave’s is widely considered a better place to work. But when Dave finds out Bill is offering Dave’s most essential employee, Robert, double salary to jump ship, he has to find a way to keep Robert on board. After finding out Robert is an encourager, Dave decides to gain weight to keep Robert from leaving, and it turns out Robert isn’t the only one who enjoys it.

The Fantasy Palace

Originally published June 8, 2019.

This idea evolved out of conversations between MysteriesOfMe and me, where we came up with the idea of a place that lets you experience your deepest, darkest fantasy, even if it’s one that you might not know you have. And even if it’s one that conflicts with how you currently live your life. Of course, just as with real life, if you fixate too much on your fantasy, it starts to bleed into your reality, whether you like it or not. And that’s the problem our hero, Tito, finds himself in, after he walks into his room at the Fantasy Palace and finds himself about a hundred pounds heavier.

The Wishing Scale: Pushed Aside

Originally published May 5, 2019.

A quick little story inspired by my latest and last FutoBara commission and Ventrego’s Wishing Scale stories, which I talked more about in the description of my previous story inspired by the series, The Wishing Scale: Larger Than Life. Not much more to say, so on to the…

Synopsis: Caleb is a small guy who often goes unnoticed and pushed aside due to his size, or lack thereof. When he finds an old scale at the mall that promises him his weight and a wish, he wishes that he could be bigger so he wouldn’t get pushed around. Little does he expect just how much he’s going to get both of his wishes.
